Algebra 2 Catapults

Nov 20, 2025 | High School News

Students in Mrs. Burdeshaw’s Algebra 2 class were challenged to build catapults. Each group built a catapult and measured the distance their object traveled and the height.  Using those points, they were able to write the function (the path) of their object.  Using what they found, students then tested their function by trying to hit a target.  One target was on the ground, which tested their equation based on the distance.  The second target was on the wall, which challenged the students to try to hit the target using a point.  We had many groups hit the target or come very close! Great job!
