Principal’s Message

Welcome to Rootstown Middle School!

I am excited to serve as the Principal of RMS and to work alongside our students, families, and staff as we continue to build a positive and supportive learning community.

Middle school is an important time in a student’s life. It is a period of growth, exploration, and discovery as students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Our goal is to create an environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported while preparing them for success in high school and beyond.

At Rootstown Middle School, we are committed to providing engaging learning experiences, fostering meaningful relationships, and encouraging students to take pride in their achievements. We believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success, and we encourage families to stay connected and involved throughout the school year.

This website serves as a resource for students, parents, and community members. Here you will find important information about academics, activities, events, and opportunities available to our students. We hope you visit often and stay connected with all the great things happening at RMS.

Thank you for your continued support of Rootstown Middle School. I look forward to working together to make this a successful and rewarding year for every student.

Sincerely,

Allie Ayers
Principal

About

The Middle School houses students in grades 6, 7, and 8. The school day extends from 7:25 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. A hot lunch is available each day for students to purchase as well as ala-carte items.

Rootstown Schools, in collaboration with the community, will provide a quality education in a safe environment for students to become productive, life-long learners.

The school operates on four 9-weeks grading periods and meets and/or exceeds all the requirements mandated by the Ohio State Department of Education.

A basic curriculum is offered consisting of language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education, art, vocal music, band and computer literacy.

Academic content standards provide a guide to assist the teaching staff in planning instruction and to insure that all concepts and skills are introduced and taught as a student progresses through the grade levels.

The professional teaching staff is highly qualified to teach in each content area.

Classes are available for special needs students.

Interscholastic athletics are available to both girls and boys in grades 7 and 8.

The school receives support from an active PTO organization which provides activities for the students, financial assistance, and support for the staff.
