Rootstown High School was proud to host Career Day 2026 on Wednesday, May 20, bringing together local businesses, organizations, and industry professionals to help students explore future career opportunities. Throughout the morning, students participated in three presentation sessions followed by a career fair in the gym, where they were able to interact directly with employers and ask questions about different career pathways. The event highlighted opportunities in aviation, healthcare, manufacturing, welding, finance, skilled trades, landscaping, retail, law enforcement, military service, higher education, and more. Career Day’s mission was to expose students to the many opportunities available in our local community while helping them better understand the education, skills, and experiences needed for future success.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the organizations and presenters who dedicated their time to make this event possible, including representatives from United Airlines, Akron-Canton Airport, Summa Health, United Network Alliance, UH Portage, Portage County Health Department, Cleveland Steel, Viking Forge, Parker Hannifin, Mac LTT, East Trailer, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marine Corps, Portage Community Bank, Local 894, Davey Tree, AVI Food Systems, and Kent State University. Your willingness to invest in our students and share your experiences made a meaningful impact on the lives of our Rootstown Rovers.
